Club raffle this Friday Night, UTD Team hosting and all invited to attend.

Teams will take turns month by month for attendance and selling the tickets.

This years rego will be $200 for all players. For players not wanting to attend Raffle Nights as part of our sponsorship deal, an additional fee will be added. That surcharge will be published after a meeting tonight at the Bowling Club, all welcome.

Pre season starts 27 Feb and 5 March.

The comp starts 24 March.

Rego will be taken from next week, forms and insurance papers as last year. All players must have paid at least $100 by pre/proper season and the remainder by 1 May. Those with difficulties can see me or Steve.

Good news this year, the pre season for our club will be O/35′s only, on 2 dates only with no final. 27 Feb and 3 March 2012. One team for us only, 15 starters would be beneficial.

The comp will start 24 or 31 March, to be confirmed. 11 teams in each of our comps which means 2 scheduled byes for the season.

Welcome to the 2012 season. I hope to see everyone back for another cracking year. The 1st Club Rffle is this coming Friday night 6.30pm. Max has volunteered so far. 3 to 4 needed to assist. For those who never attend, it may be time to donate 1.5 hrs of your time to at least 1 raffle a year.

A great night had with out charity Movember Night but a sad turn out, specifically the FC team.

Stumpy won the best Moe, whilst Rosey won the Lamest Moe.

$750 was raised through the raffle and the band donation which based on the turnout ended up being a good result.

Since the night was for the Sponsorship in 2012 for the club, an added fee for non attendance will be included in next years rego.

Mouvember Night, live band SHAMELESS playing in out Prostate Cancer Charity Night on Fri 25 Nov 8pm.

$5 for those with a Moustache, real or otherwise, $10 entry without.

Prize for the best real moustache. All boys should be attempting to grow a real one from last weekend Oct (trip away) to the 25th.

Raffles etc throughout, would like to see 100 there, please invite a friend or relo to come along and enjoy good Aussie rock. Phils brother in law Tim plays the base.

The Thirroul team, having forfeited the Major Semi Final due to a lack of numbers, were able to take out the Preliminary Final against Sweat Hogs and entered the Grand Final with enough recovered and previously unseen personnel to start with a few on the bench.

What they encountered was a Russell Vale outfit full of determination, confident in the roles they were meant to play, aware of where their team-mates were and prepared to play to their strengths.

On a gloriously sunny spring morning (a bit less glorious sun might have been nice, actually), and on a fairly well-grassed pitch that was nevertheless hard and bumpy, United simply carved the game up through structure, teamwork and the individual brilliance of Snowy and Tony in particular.

Four goals to Snowy and two to Tony tells much of the tale (Andy scored the other, the first of the game). Gibson Park suffered a 0-4 half-time scoreline, two penalties, a red card and – to add injury to insult – a player hurt badly enough to require an ambulance (hope you’re OK, Craig).

But this was a victory that Russell Vale thoroughly deserved. United has had an astounding season. Taking out byes and forfeits (each 3-0), in 19 matches played we won 18 and drew one, scoring 74 goals at 3.89 goals per game. We conceded just ten goals. And while in this Grand Final Gibson Park remained competitive to the end, with shots hitting the woodwork, Russell Vale United played with the authority that comes from being champions.
